If you love finding new Filipino children’s books for your home or classroom, this year has some exciting spots to check out. Between book fairs and freshly opened book cafés, 2025 feels like a great time to help young readers dive into new adventures. We found some fun updates that parents and teachers might want to keep on their radar.
Starting in April, National Book Store kicked off its Sulit Reads Fair at Greenhills Mall, where parents and teachers could grab good reads at a discount. It’s a solid place to hunt for Filipino children’s books, especially if you’re stocking up for summer reading. A little later in May, the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale will return to Virra Mall in San Juan, and if you’ve ever been to one, you know it’s a goldmine for affordable finds. Looking ahead to July and September, both the Philippine Academic Book Fair and the Manila International Book Fair promise even more titles—perfect if you’re building a home library or updating your school’s shelves.
Aside from the big events, April also saw the opening of new book cafés where grown-ups can relax while picking out their next batch of stories. Deartime Book Café in Makati and Bocca Bookstore & Café in Manila both opened their doors, offering cozy spots that quietly celebrate the joy of reading. While these cafés mostly attract older readers, they also showcase selections that include beautiful Filipino children’s books for younger ones.
We love sharing easy, parent-friendly ways to stay connected with Filipino stories, and 2025 looks especially promising. Whether you plan to attend a big fair or pop into a cozy café, there are so many ways to fill your kids’ bookshelves this year.
